There’s been lots of interest in Mr Humzah’s unique surgical Lash Lift and Eyelid Rejuvenation treatment and the fantastic results it’s achieving for patients in the UK. Recognising the benefits for patients worldwide, Mr Humzah has been asked to share his pioneering approach with surgeons from around the world at this year’s 5 Continents Congress in Cannes.

More popular with women, Mr Humzah’s lash lifting technique is particular appealing for anyone with excessive skin on the eyelids. Uniquely, the procedure involves tightening the skin above the upper eyelash rather than the eyelid itself to remove excess or wrinkled skin. The result is a more youthful appearance with a smoother eyelid surface – ideal when applying eye shadow. Further enhancing the appearance of the eyes, the eyelashes are also made to curve upwards, making the eyes look more open, alert and less tired.

Mr Humzah said: “Often women over the age of 45 years old start to notice sagging and excess skin appearing above the eyelid area. This often causes concern when applying eye shadow as the folds in the eye cause make up to look crinkled and eye shadow runs off the eyelid. With this procedure, women will regain a smooth and defined eyelid area with no further crinkles, caking or cracking.”

The procedure takes just 1 hour and recovery can take from 4 – 6 weeks. It costs from £1,500 per treatment and is available on request from Mr Humzah’s private practice locations in Worcestershire, Wolverhampton, Halesowen and Cheltenham.

Are you fed up with investing in expensive skincare products, only to be left disappointed? Perhaps you suffer from adult acne or the signs of premature ageing?  Mr Humzah is introducing patients to the prescription only ‘Obagi’ skin care range, ideal for rejuvenating skin and correcting uneven patches, brown spots and scarring.

Ideal for men and women, the ‘Obagi’ skin care range offers patients prescription-strength skincare solutions to treat many skin concerns including premature ageing, adult acne and sun damage. It is also attractive for those who want a non-surgical treatment for revitalising the skin.

The ‘Obagi Nu-Derm’ range (from £185 for a 6 week course) is particularly beneficial for patients who are looking to slow down the signs of ageing or reduce skin damage caused by daily sun exposure. It is an anti-ageing therapy that penetrates below the skin’s surface to transform skin cell functions at the cellular level to correct the damage within to reveal healthier, younger looking skin.

Mr Humzah said: “Skin ageing is a natural process, but excessive sun damage can cause the turnover of healthy new cells to slow down. The tell-tale signs can include age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity (loss of elasticity) and rough skin.”

The second most common skin complaint amongst adult men and women is acne. Mr Humzah treats a wide range of adults for acne concerns from 25 up to 35 years old. It is believed to affect over 25 per cent of all adult men and 50 per cent of adult women at some time in their adult lives, according to Acne.org.  Although the causes of adult acne are unknown, possible causes can include hormones, cosmetics or stress

Mr Humzah prescribes ‘Obagi-Clenziderm’ (from £120 for a six week course), the only prescription strength acne treatment to contain a patented solubilised form of 5 per cent benzoyl peroxide (BPO), which filters deep into the skin to treat acne where it starts.  The full range includes Therapeutic Lotion, Daily Care Foaming Cleanser, Pore Therapy and Daily Care Cream Cleanser and Therapeutic Moisturizer.

Mr Humzah is the first cosmetic surgeon in the West Midlands to introduce a brand new state-of-the-art 3D facial analysis technology for patients. It is the first technology of its kind to allow patients to project into the future to see the individual benefits of non-surgical and surgical procedures by simulating ‘before’ and ‘after’ results on a life-like 3D image.

Importantly, 3D LifeViz™ allows patients the ability to see the results of surgical and non-surgical procedures via high quality three dimensional images before going ahead with life-changing treatments.

It will also be particularly beneficial for all patients post-treatment to demonstrate ongoing progress and results from popular treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers. Mr Humzah will be able to measure accurately the changes in an individual patients face over time, thus making it easier to advise patients on the best treatment for them.

The technology is equally attractive for surgical patients post-surgery with the ability to show a digital portfolio of high quality ‘before’ and ‘after’ images demonstrating overall results from surgery.

Following the recall of PIP implants by French medical authorities, Mr Humzah says it is absolutely essential the Government acts to reinstate The National Breast Implant Registry. The potentially dangerous implants are thought to have been used in up to 50,000 breast augmentation procedures in the UK.

French company Poly Implant Perthese (PIP) is being investigated after authorities discovered PIP implants contained a non-approved silicone gel and had a high rupture rate leading to complications.

At the end of March this year the UK Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) issued a public alert about gel filled breast implants manufactured by PIP, after the French medical authorities carried out an inspection of the PIP manufacturing plant and alleged that most of the implants manufactured by the company since 2001 have been filled with a silicone gel with a composition different from that previously approved.

Mr Humzah said: “Myself and many other industry colleagues were relieved to hear that these products were not going to be available for implantation and no more women would have to subsequently experience any problems which arose from these implants.

“Both surgeon and patient experience with the PIP implant was extremely unsatisfactory with a concerning number of complication rates, most common being the rupture of implants and unusual lumps.”

In the last 12 months alone, Mr Humzah has treated several patients with ruptured PIP implants. Most involved the removal of the implants, breast clean up and placing new implants in one single operation.

He is asking the Government to reinstate the registration of all implants on The National Breast Implant Registry by both private health consultants and NHS consultants.

He continued: “At the moment, there is no way of knowing for sure how many women have been given PIP implants. If the registry was reinstated, we could easily access this information to ensure patients affected are treated and made aware of such complications.”

Mr Humzah’s private practice, Plastic and Dermatological Surgery (PDS), only recommends Nagor silicone gel-filled breast implants to patients.

“All my patients benefit from the superior quality and choice of Nagor breast implants. Made in the UK, these particular implants offer patients a soft but firm gel implant which maintains its shape. With over 20 years experience in the breast augmentation field, I’ve only ever exclusively used Nagor implants when treating my patients for breast enlargement surgery,” said Mr Humzah.
